Slow Pitch Balk

Question
I play in a 55 and over ASA slow-pitch league and two players from the oppossing team who are also umpires claims that I was committing a balk. Is there such a thing? My motion was not in anyway deceptive and I have been using this motion and never had any complaints. I always pitch from the rubber. They claim that a balk is in the rule book. Thanks, Ron
Answer
Thanks for the question!
In ASA softball, there is no such thing as a balk. Anyone telling you otherwise is full of crap! If anything it would be an illegal pitch.
Here are some of the basic 12" slow pitch pitching rules:
One foot needs to remain in the pitcher's plate till you let go of the ball. The ball must pass your hip below the waist. The ball may only pass the hip once and you may not continue your pitching motion after you've released the ball. Also you can never windmill before, during or after the pitch. Nor can you simulate an actual pitch while off the pitcher's plate. Ball can not be pitched behind the back or through the legs. Pitching motion must be continuous. Pitches can not be delivered from the glove.
That's pretty much it. I hope this answers your question! If not please reply!
