girls hit by a pitch and the pitchers feet

Question
This is about a game I did not attend but have became very involved in. (I live in a very small town) My two great-nieces played a softball game this week that has led to, their coach being let go and as far as I know the team with no coach if, there even is a team anymore. They were playing a team from a different town and 2 situtions happened. One of the dads noticed that the pitcher from the opposing team would hop as she let go of the softball. He pointed this out to the coach. Said that the feet for softball had to be on the rubber. As I understand this led to an disagreement between the coaches and some parents of the opposing team. After this disagreement the pitcher then proceeded to hit 4 or 5 batters in a row. This is from two different sources. A player on the team told me it was 5. What are the rules for where the pitchers feet should be and is there any rules on how many batters a pitcher can hit. The girls play on a 12 year old team and I am not sure what rule book they go by, or if it is slowpitch or fastpitch.
Thank you
Sandy
Answer
Hi Sandy,
this is a difficult question because it's all hearsay and your not sure of what game is being played.
But let's assume fp and I'll try my best
both the pitcher's feet must be on the plate prelim to the delivery, they must take a step but cannot "hop".
If they are intentionally hitting batters the umpire is going to take care of that (I hope)
If it's just due to lack of skill there is no rule, we're just going to keep awarding bases.
