filing a protest

Question
I have another question for you. As you know we won our protest. The question I have is this. Can a girl who was not in that game play in the protest game. Everyone is telling me something different so I need to know what the rule is. Does it have to be the same exact line up as was in the game when the protest was filed? Thank you so much for you time.

I filed a protest in reference to a game and I won my protest. The problem is is that the umpires did not record the time when I informed him that the game was being finished under protest. The park we play for says that it was my responsibility to do this and not the umpires job to do so but everything I have read says it was his job to inform the home team score keeper of the time and the protest. Now we have to try and figure out how much time wa left in the game. Can you please make me understand the rule. Thanks so much for your time.

Hi Melissa,
It's a pretty simple rule, if the protest is upheld the game is rescheduled from the point it was protested, but you know that.
Rule 9-4 says ...."the plate umpire shall in turn notify the opposing manager and official scorekeeper." It goes on " To aid in the correct determination of the issue, all interested parties shall take notice of the information, details and conditions surrounding the decision to protest."
So it seems to me before the next pitch under protest everyone (offense, defense, umpires and scorers) should have had all the information needed if the protest was upheld. IMHO it is the plate umpire's responsibility to see that it happens.
Maybe you have a local league rule that's different. If so ask to see it in print.

Answer
Hi Melissa,
I'll tell you what's legal.
Any player on the roster can play in the continuation of the game. They need not have been at the "1st" game. All you have to do is legally sub just as you would do normally
You must use the same "lineup" as original. ie Beka A (my lovely daughter)is batting 3rd, she must continue to bat 3rd or be legally subbed for. You can't move her to B5. Ect.
If you get any grief tell them to read POE 42
