Question
In fast pitch softball, if a pitch bounces in front of the plate and is put into play by the batter hitting the ball, is the play live and does the play stand?
Thank you,
Dave

Answer
Dave, thanks for the question!

The answer is..... Yes and yes!

A batter can hit the ball off the ground in fast pitch... in fact it happened to me Monday night.  Since the ball is live unless time or a dead ball type of call is made (such as a foul ball) it is a valid hit and it should stand.

I hope this helps answer your question, if not please reply!
