If you have free substitution can you substitute for the defo and the dp?

Local associations that allow free substitution usually also allow everyone on the roster to bat so a defo / dp isn抰 really needed. If your association doesn抰 do this I don抰 see a problem with subbing the defo / dp however you need to make sure the dp or the sub batting for the dp didn抰 come from or go to another batting spot in the line up.
