modified pitch(mens)

Can a pitcher hit his hip as he throws? He appears to be square and he does follow through but hits hip while delivering pitch.

Hi Jeff,

I have to tell you I've never even seen a modified game.  It's very popular in a very defined, smallish area in our state but not in my area.

I did take a look and found this ...6-3-I the release of the ball must be on the first forward swing of the pitching arm past the hip.  The release must have a complete smooth follow through and no abrupt stop of the arm near the hip.

Next weekend I'll be UICing a a sp tournie in the heart of our modified area.  I'll ask some senior modified people and see what they say.  If I get a definitive answer I add to this.  If you can give me any more details that would help.
