Question
We are going to the women's state softball tournament this coming weekend.  A friend of mine that is playing on another team is a C player. Can she play in a D tournament?  She is under the assumption that she can. I have asked several people and recieved differenr answers every time. Please clarify this for me.

Answer
Hi Melessa,

Umpires never, ever, never get involved in eligibility other than to note a protest.

That being said I looked this up for you BUT you should talk to the Tournament Director (if your going this weekend your team manager should know who the TD is and their phone # or email) or your local commissioner to make sure it applies in your situation

Pick-up players must have played for an ASA registered team during the current season and must have played in the division of play for which they are being picked up.

DIVISION AND CLASSIFICATION.  Pick-up players must be from the team's same division of play and the same or lower classification.
