2nd baseman not covering 1st on a bunt

Question
How would you score a bunt that was picked cleanly by 3rd baseman but no play was made due to mental error of 2nd baseman forgetting to cover 1st base? Fielders choice? Hit? Error?  Any ideas on where I could find an answer which I am sure is subjective.  THANKS!

Hello Jason,

The error would be charged to the person who should of been covering the base.  In this case, the second baseman.  You can find information on official scoring for almost any situation here:
