Base runner hit with a batted ball.

2016/7/15 17:39:22

Question
A base runner is hit with a batted ball before it passes an infielder other than the pitcher, is she out?

Answer
Hi Cory,

If it's a fair batted ball and the runner is not standing on a base...

We have a dead ball, runner is out and b-r is awarded 1st base.  All other runners return to the last base touched at the time of the interference, unless forced.
