Pitcher with fear

Question
Hello, my 11(soon to be 12) year old daughter is currently experiencing a high level of fear while pitching this season. Wearing a pitching mask has done little to alleviate this. When not experiencing this, she is almost unhittable in her league, clocking a fastball at 48mph and a change up at around 33mph. The problem now is she throw's the majority of her pitches high and/or outside, which allows the other team's to continually walk runs in. Any and all advice is appreciated.
Answer
Hello Brian,
The only thing that is going to correct this problem is obviously for her to gain confidence in her fielding. I'd go out and play pepper with her before every practice and gradually bring her in closer to the batter the more comfortable she gets. In time, she'll believe in herself and go to the mound with confidence in her ability to field the ball. They do make chest protectors for pitchers and she should have shin guards on. Perhaps a combination of added protection and fielding confidence will help her push through these insecurities. Please let me know if this helps.
