coach controlling umpires decisions

Question
recently my daughter (9-10) had a game the there opposing coach, was screaming out the calls (safe, out, strike, ball) over the umpire and it was manipulating his decisions.

now can you protest a game because of this.  being that our team was not given a fair chance to play the game because the umpire was calling the game not on judgement but on somewhat of forced decisions

sincerely chad r. putman

Answer
HI Chad P,

You can't protest the game but you can discuss this with your softball officials and tell them of your concerns.

At 10U you many times don't get very experienced umpires and that may have happened here.

I would never allow a coach to continually (once in a while in the heat of the battle, ok) do that in my game, we're going to have a little "chat" and believe me he's going to understand who's calling the game.
