Question
hello! & thanks for your time!
first, where can i get an ASA rulebook?
here's what happened...
my daughter played r-field(1st inning). sat out next inning.
played r-field the next inning. team went through their batting order twice.....she never batted.
my kiddo asked the adult in the dug-out with the roster the coach wrote when she would be batting...she showed my child the list & said "your after so & so...". my daughter said her name wasn't on the list.
i know i should have said something!
i know!
there are 3 sets of books...1 for each team...& official...right?
help!
can you play a player...and them not bat? i thought that was for "pinch-hits" for the pitcher.
what dod i do now?
thanks!!
Answer
Hi LA,
you can buy a rule book from the ASA website.
If the team went through the batting order 2X and the other team didn't protest batting out of order your daughter was probably listed as the flex player. This is a player who plays defense only and doesn't bat.
If you're playing a flex and a dp (who bats) this has to be listed on the lineup at the beginning of the game. The flex is always listed in the 10th position.
I guess if I were you I'd have a friendly chat with the coach and find out what's going on w/ your daughter.
mark
- Prev:fielding too many players
- Next:fast pitch or quick pitch in asa slowpitch
