Question
QUESTION: My daughter plays softball for Washington Iowa. Any way she has been going to all practices etc, and doing what is required of her! Any way they have played 5 games already and she has not been able to play any? Not even in the outfield? I have called her coach and and talked to him bout this and feel as if I have got no where! So where do i go from here? I honestly feel as if she is being discriminated against her cause everyone else on her team has played but her? Any information would be greatly appriciated, sincerly Heidi Trogdon
ANSWER: Hi Heidi,
I'm really sorry I don't know what to tell you. It's up to the coaches who plays and there are no rules to help you with that.
I feel bad for your daughter, you would think a coach would find something to help her feel part of the team.

QUESTION: I guess i don't understand? What happened to "Every player must be given an opportunity to play an infield defensive position in every game Players should rotate through infield and outfield positions." or let me guess this don't matter to the players?
Answer
Hi Heidi,
I don't know where you got that from. If it's from your local league, I would again talk to the coach or softball supervisor and ask them to enforce the rules.
My job and any ASA's umpire's job is to run the game by the book rules. What you quote me is not any part of ASA rules re: the playing of softball.
