USSSA pitching rule?

2016/7/15 17:32:36

Question
We have just started a women's slowpitch league in our small town and are questioning the distance we must pitch from.  There are 2 rubbers on the field and we have heard various explanations of which one we must pitch from and why they're are even 2 present.  Lots are struggling to pitch from the back rubber and I wanted to know if we even had to start out there?  If you could clear this up for me, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Amye

Answer
Hello Amye,

Unfortunately your question was placed in the question pool by someone, which happens to be the graveyard for questions.  I just came across it today and apologize for the fact that no one has answered it before now.  The pitching distance for women in USSSA is currently 50 feet from home.  You can print a complete copy of all USSSA rules including field dimensions, base path distance, and any other information you need at the link I'll provide below.  Please feel free to ask any other questions in the future and hopefully we will provide a more prompt response.
