2016/7/15 17:32:35

Question
In slow pitch ASA softball, what is the rules about pinch running.  If a player has a bad leg, who is allowed to pinch run for him, and how often can a team use pinch runners?

Answer
Hi Matthew,

if you're talking about courtesy runner's, in sp they're allowed only in senior play.

You can of course legally sub for a runner, bad leg or not, but it counts as a substitution.  You cannot have a "pinch runner" with out using a legal sub.
