Question
I play recreational softball. I am an average to below average hitter and need strengthening exercises for hitting. Can you recommend any? Also, I an above average catcher and would like to be better. What are some exercise I do that will benefit me at this position including strengthening my throwing arm? How often should i do any of these exercise? Thanks!

Answer
Greg,
You can strengthen your swing by simply swing the bat. Use a heavier than normal bat and practice swing it correctly. This is a good practice that you can do for about 10 min. every day.
Strengthen your arm by throwing a weighted ball, you can also get a lot out of running with weights. This helps your cardio as well as makes your arms stronger.
Good Luck, Coach Suthe.
