Cathing Exercises

Question
Hello, I'm a catcher for my high school softball team, and we're starting practice in a couple of weeks, I've been doing squats, running/walking with weights, and ab workouts to get ready for the season, and I was wondering if you knew of any other at-home exercises I could use to strengthen my legs and throwing arm. Also anything that I can do in addition to practice once the season starts.
Thank you, Katie

I love to here about H.S softball players that love too play enough to work out, trying to get better on their own time. You should be commended.
I'd really like to give you the magic spell to make you great but I cant.
I don't recommend lots of weight training, #1 its boring and #2 it's not any fun.
What I recommend is that catchers simply do just that catch as much as you can, practice throwing to second, use a weighted ball if you can get one.
One exercise you can do to build leg strength, is to get into your stance and simply popup as if you were throwing to second.
Sorry I couldn't give you more, it sounds as if you are already doing it.
Congratulations on being a hard worker.
Remember, "Practice like you play!"
Good Luck,
Coach Suthe.
