Runner Interference - how to score batter?

2016/7/15 17:28:57

Question
Happened last night in a HS varsity game:
Runners at 1 and 2 with two outs. Batter hits dinker on which batter would reach 1B safely. However, runner at 2 is called for interference going to 3rd. Runner is out #3. How do you score the batter? FC or hit?

Answer
Hit.

I use the NCAA Baseball/Softball scoring guide to help me these questions.  My first inclination was it would be a FC.

The scoring guide says this is a hit because of the interference.  There is no criteria on whether a normally played ball would have put the Batter out at first.  The SS is credited with a put-out.
