Little League pitching

2016/7/15 17:27:25

Question
For Little League girls 10 and under, is the pitcher required to begin pitching with two feet on the rubber, one foot on, or what?  This seems to be a hard question to answer.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Cindy,

Sorry for taking so long to reply.  I didn't read your question until yesterday morning and my LL rule book was at home.  I was pretty sure of my answer but wanted to double check the rule book.

In LL only the drive foot needs to be on the pitchers plate.  The stride foot can be on or behind the pitchers plate.  The pitcher may take a step back with the stride foot as long as the step starts prior to the pitcher bringing her hands together prior to starting the pitch.  The rule book didn't show any changes to this in LL regardless of the age group.
