Prensenting the ball

2016/7/15 17:26:06

Question
In presenting the ball can the ball be in the glove as long as your hands are seperated when approaching the rubber?

Answer
Michelle,

In the current rule book the word presenting isn't used.  Don't worry about "presenting the ball".  You simply have to step on the pitching plate with your hands separated.  Since you obviously have the ball at this time it must be in your hand, either one.  It doesn't matter if the hand that is holding the ball has a glove on it.

I wrote the answer in the manner I did to make sure anybody else reading it didn't misinterpret it.

To answer you in a more direct manner, no it doesn't matter!

Tom
