Question
1) high school softball pitching distance is 40', but is it measured from the front or back of the pitching rubber?

2) from home to second is 84' 10.25", but again where do you measure from at 2nd?  Use to be the far corner.  thank you!  Sam

Answer
Pitching distance is from the front edge of pitching plate to the apex of home plate.

Home to second is apex of home plate to center of 2nd base for fast pitch.  For slow pitch it is the far corner. Go figure!  And yes, I did have to look this one up!
