Question
Runner on second, two outs. Batter hits high pop up between home and first. Runner on second heads for third and is unintentionally knocked down by the shortstop who of course does not have the ball. Umpire uses delayed dead ball signal. Ball is caught for 3rd out. What is the ruling.

Answer
The inning is over.

In a DDB for obstruction, the runner can not be put out between the bases they were between when the obstruction was called.  In this case the obstruction doesn't have anything to do with the fly ball being caught.

Look at it this way, what would have happened without the obstruction.  In this case inning over.
