NSA Extra Player Rule

Question
I know this is an NSA question, I can not even begin to figure out the DP/Flex ASA Rules. We are currently playing with a roster of 10 girls. I need to know if Rule 4 Sec. $ allows our team to play with all 10 girls in the line-up with one being the extra player?
Answer
Brian,
The NSA EP and the ASA Flex/DP work basically the same. Some of the subsitution rules are different when these specific players are involved.
These rules allow you to have 10 players in the line up. The last one being EP for NSA and FLEX for ASA.
The first 9 in the line up get to bat. The 10th one doesn't. Any 9 of the 10 can play defense without there being a subsitution.
ASA lists the position DP in the line up instead of another defensive position to designate the player that is batting only at the start of the game. This is because the FLEX player is also designated a defensive position.
That is it!
