Question
ASA rules, we recently played a team that constantly screamed as our pitcher was releasing her pitch. The opposing team would chant, the normal things then a member of that team would shriek in a high pitch scream obviously to effect the pitcher. When the team stopped or slowed down the opposing coach would yell for them to continue from the third base coaching position. I am all for cheering but this behavior was unsportsmanlike.
Answer
Hi brian,
"No player, manager, coach shall call time, employ any other word or phase or commit any act while the ball is live for the obvious purpose of trying to make the pitcher commit an illegal pitch" 6-10-e
1...warning to the team
2...ejection
effect dead ball, no pitch
A good umpire should handle this
mark
- Prev:Pick off play at first
- Next:overthrow and over ruling umpire
