illegal pitch and penalty enforced

what constitutes an illegal pitch in asa slow pitch softball?  what are the penalties enforced on an illegal pitch?

Hi John,

In SP an illegal pitch is a ball but if swung at or hit it is what it is.

There are a # of rules that apply, under 6 or over 12 are the most common.  6-3 gives most of it, along w/6-2, 4 and 7, which are in total too long to type out.
