Girls Fastpitch 10U

Question
What is crow footing or crow hopping, we have a pitcher on our 10U team that has been accused of this practice.  Do both feet have to stay on the rubber until the release or the step forward?

Answer
Crow hopping is a replant and push off with the drive foot.  For a RH pitcher, this would be a small step forward with the right foot prior to pushing off.

A crow hop is commonly confused with leaping.  The leap is simply a point in time when both of the pitchers feet are in the air at the same time.  A small amount of leaway is granted to the pitcher on this one if there is a hole in front of the pitchers plate.
