strike or ball

Question
slow pitch, legal pitched ball(delivery and height) hits the back black frame of the plate. Does not hit any white on the plate. Strike or ball

Hi Steve,

ball, the plate is the plate is the plate..... as stated by one of the big ASA guys that I came up under and his name is Henry for those that know who that is.

The ASA Clinic Guide also states that the black beveled edge of the plate is considered part of the plate for the purpose of all rules which can include a player or ball touching the plate.

UIC's opinion and the ASA clinic guide reference why don't you email Kevin Ryan a MASA umpire, former MASA State Asst UIC and now National ASA Supervisor of Umpires and ask him his opinion.  Tell him I sent you
