Question
i have lost my swing i have lost timing i seem to be hitting either inside handle or end cap of the bat i use to hit fine i could hit sometimes out of the park now i cant hit 250 feet i am left handed i seem to get nervous now i didnt use to can you help thank you
Answer
just go back to the basics. start with the feet. make sure you are standing in the correct place. that you are straight with the plate. then keep your hands slightly above the shoulders. dont rest the bat on your shoulder that could cause you to have a late swing and hit the barrell of the bat. then keep you eye on the ball. never take it off. you know how to hit...you are just getting inside your own head. once you take a break from this sport it is alwasy hard to get bcak in it. you always compare yourself to what you used to be able to do and not on what you need to be doing right now. if you could hit it out of the park..thats great but being a good hitter is not always about how far you can hit the ball but how often you can make good connection and move players around. just take it step by step....dont aim for the fence right away. just worry about making contact.
try this..... start with 10 pitches... your goal is to make contact with all 10...(even foul balls count) then increase the number of pitches..... but every time you miss...say you only hit 7 out of 10...then after your work out do 3 laps of 3 sets of push-ups or 3 sets of set-ups... because you missed 3 pitches...this works in 2 ways..first it benifits your body and fitness...and it will make you compete with your self next time you do this to get all the pitches!!! GOOD LUCK...
