Infielders gloves

Question
I would like to know what size gloves many (or most) College softball infielders use?
All glove manufacturers refer to softball gloves as minimum size 12" and above (because of the size of the ball). But the defensive skills instructor for softball, that my daughter sees, insists that 11" is what is used.
Answer
Hey Bob,
Usually, infielders use smaller gloves so they can control the ball better because their reaction time is much less than that of an outfielder. Infielder gloves are also smaller so the fielder can get the ball out of the pocket faster and throw out runners. The outfielder抯 gloves are usually larger with a deeper pocket because they are running down and chasing fly balls and having a larger mitt helps them in that respect. I would say that on average though, college (and high school) players' infield glove sizes may range from 11 ?12. Obviously, a lot depends on the size of the player and their personal comfort level though. I hope this helps.
