illegal pitch?

Question
hiya Doc.
just came home from a tournament and came out with doubts. here is my question.
my daughter was pitching and the home plate umpire told out catcher to tell the pitcher(my daughter) that she was performing an illegal pitch. my daughter steps forward at an angle towards first base (but still going forward at the batter). kind of like taryne mowatt (pitcher for university of Arizona)does.
we've attended about 6 tournament where my daughter pitched in the exact same way and no one has called her on her pitching. so is this an illegal pitch? was the ump being picky?
HELP
if its an illegal pitch let me know so i we can correct this.
none of the coaches had heard of this being illegal.
Answer
Hi Ismael,
without seeing it obviously I can't be 100% sure but it's probably ok.
IN ASA Women's and all JO: The step must be forward and toward the batter within the 24 in length of the pitcher's plate.
In Fed play the Pivot foot must remain within the 24" width of the pitchers plate during the drag.
Depending on what org see if she meets the requirements above.
