Question
In an ASA 10U game, there are two outs and a runner trying to steal home is called out by the home plate umpire. Both teams leave the field and enter the dugouts, The home plate umpire then checks with his partner and reverses the last out.  Can the call be changed after the teams have left the field?

Answer
Hi Bob,

I'm really surprised that a PU would change his call on a play at the plate by talking with a BU.  The PU is much much closer to the play obviously. And why did (s)he change the call, for what reason?, what did they miss? Normally we don't go for help unless asked and even then it's our decision if we need the help.

On a normal appeal (and you don't tell me any appeal was made here) you cannot appeal if all the infielders and the pitcher have left fair territory.

Chap 10 allows an umpire to rectify a situation....but not after all the infielders and the pitcher have left fair territory.  So the answer is no, the call cannot be changed.
