International Tie Breaker ERA

Question
Is it true that the runner placed on 2nd base in an International Tie Breaker is NOT considered an Earned Run?

Answer
Hi Francie,

Normally I don't answer scoring questions per the instructions on my site.

"Instructions by Expert; Please tell me what game of softball your question pertains to.  Also please understand I am an umpire and not a scorer.  I only care if they are out or safe.  I do not have the expertise to answer most scoring questions."

However our RS says "in scoring, the run scored by the player starting as a runner at 2nd base shall be charged to the defense and not the pitcher."

if that answers your question, ok.  If not, sorry, best I can do.
