kansas rule try out when in season

2016/7/15 17:13:12

Question
can a kansas softball player try out for a summer team or just visit & not try out

Answer
Al,

Participation rules for high school atheletes with non school teams vary by state.  Contact your high school athletic director for a determination.  The AD should contact the state high school athletic association for the correct ruling.

In Michigan, trying out and practicing would not be a problem. Competeing in a scrimmage or a game in the same sport that is currently in season would cause the player to lose eligibility for the high school sport for the rest of the season.
