Question
QUESTION: We play in a slow pitch co-ed softball league using ASA rules. WE were home team and we were up 10-9 with our last ups that we didn't take because we already won. Both teams shook hands and the umpire left. The scorekeeper from the other team approached me with a question on runs scored in the third inning, saying one of them didn't count. If it was the case we would have taken our last ups can he officially protest the game.
ANSWER: Hi Mike,
Once the umpire leaves the field of play there can be no protest.

QUESTION: Can this be found in the ASA rule book
Answer
Hi Mike,
here you go a couple different rule interps on games should end.
ASA R/S 1 Appeals
e "on the last play of the game an appeal can be made until the umpires leave the field of play"
or n "...no appeal can be made once the umpires leave the field of play"
Actually this is not an appeal but more probably a protest but the reasoning is the same,
9-2-a -3 a protest must be made... before all infielders have left fair territory
4 on the last play of the game before the umpires leave live ball territory
Now your LD might say this is not an appeal (an it's not) and it's not a protest (that's open to question) it's simply a scoring error, you're wost case scenario should be you bat in B7.
