Question
what is the ruling if a pitch comes across a batter from shoulders down and hits deep in the batters box is it a strike or what is the strike zone how far back can it hit and be a strike

Answer
Hi Rick,

Here's the def for SP

STRIKE ZONE: That space over any part of home plate, when a batter assumes a natural batting stance adjacent to home plate, between the batter抯,
B. (Slow Pitch) Back shoulder and the front knee.

the sz doesn't change if the batter is up or back in the box.  Also a 12' pitch for a strike by physics must land shorter behind the plate than a 6' pitch.  However where the ball lands is not part of determining if the pitch is a ball or strike.  I simply mention it because a pitch must enter the batter's sz and height of the pitch plays a part in that and where the ball lands.
