Reporting substitutions

Question
What is the 2009 rule on reporting substitutions to the ump? The ump @ a recent game stated that subs do not have to reported prior to entering the game. Is this true or false?

Answer
Hi Craig,

True....Line-up cards should contain all starters and available substitutes. They shall contain first and last names and uniform numbers. Substitutes and eligible roster members may be added any time during the game. If a name or number is incorrect, it can be corrected without penalty.

So if #33 is not on the initial lineup simply tell the umpire when you are putting them in the game.
