Dead ball Fast Pitch

2016/7/15 17:08:51

Question
Dr.
The pitcher has the ball in the 8 foot circle, but hasn't put her feet on the rubber yet.  When is the ball considered dead and the runners on base cannot advance.

Answer
Hi Frank,

In most of the FP game the ball is live much more than it is dead.  When the pitcher has control of the ball in the circle and runners are on base most of the time the ball is live and the LBR (look back rule) is in effect.

if you understand the LBR you will understand what runners can and cannot do.
