Is player an automatic out after ejection (ASA)?

2016/7/15 17:08:32

Question
Hello Mark,
One of our players was ejected last night.  Is he then an automatic out when his turn comes to bat?  We use ASA rules.  We also were batting all 13 of our players at the time.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Paul,

The problem is you deviate from ASA rules w/ a bat all.  In ASA you bat 10/11 and if you have an ejection you must have a legal sub or you forfeit.  In your local rules it probably should be an out if there is no forfeit (similar to ASA playing shorthanded)but you need to talk to your LD for your local rule.
