Question
1 out runners 1st and 2nd batter hits a pop up to 2nd.I call infield fly rule batters out.The2nd base fielder goes to catch the ball it comes down and hits the heel of her glove pops straight up in the air at this point the runner on 2nd leaves for third the ball then comes down into the glove for a legal catch the runner @ 3rd never attempts to return and tag, the play is appealed I call her out for bottagging up after the legal catch was made.Did I make the right call?

Hi guy,
a runner may legally leave the base on a ball that is going to be caught when it is 1st touched by any defensive player.
In the past I've used the example of a high sharp line drive that deflects off a leaping 6'8" F6 carries into LC where F7 catches the ball for an out. Any runner on base can legally leave as soon as F6 touched the ball.
