Question
u10 girls fast pitch using ASA rules--Is it a legal pitch to not use the "windmill"?  If it's legal but the pitcher is passing her hip with her hand twice is that legal?  This pitcher also had an arch on the ball just like a slow pitch and the umpire let it go????????  Please help to clearify this.  thanks

Answer
Hi Karen,

If all the other pitching regs are followed a "slingshot" type of pitch is legal.

A pitcher using any style is allowed to drop their arm to the side and the rear after separating their hands, back, forward, that's 2, in this case she cannot continue the pitching motion into a revolution after releasing the ball, forget about "times past the hip"

The are no rules in FP about "arc" or speed, if it's enters the strike zone or not is another question.

Hope this clarifies for you, plus remember this is 10U we want the girls to learn and "enjoy" the game.
