Question
i am a rec league coach who is taking my rec league team to play in an asa tournament for the first time.i have never played with any kind of sub rule or d.h.can you give me a breakdown of how to sub?can i sub someone in at rightfield, pull them out and put them in later at another position? is there a website i can visit that will break it all down for me?

Answer
Hi Brian,

If this is SP you can play w/ 10 or 11.  If you play w/ 11 all 11 bat and ANY 10 play defense.

Now we never care where someone plays defense only where they bat.  You can sub in #2 for #1 who's F3, put 2 at F9 and bring in #3 F9 to F3.  However #2 bats in #1's spot.  If #1 re-enters they must re-enter in their original batting position.

A starter and a sub can each re-enter once.  #1 starts, #2 subs for 1, #1 re-enters, #2 now reenters, 1 is out of the game, #3 subs for #2, 2 is now out of the game...and so on.
