asa co-ed slow pitch

2016/7/15 17:04:49

Question
The league we play in says we go by asa rules.  They say when making the line up you must bat 10 players or all of them if you have like 14 players show up that is if its 7 male and 7 female.
Could you bat 12 players and the remaining players just be subs?
thanks, kacy

Answer
Hi Kacy,

In strict ASA play you can bat 5 and 5 or 6 and 6.  You cannot play more than 12 at a time, what you have is 2 EPs on the lineup.

You local league can do whatever they want, talk to your LD about this.  If you have to bat them all what happens on an ejection for example, or if someone is injured.  You need to know those answers.
