Outs in softball

Question
Man at first and second with no outs - ground ball to the shortstop. Shortstop fields the ball, steps on second and tags the runner that is STILL standing on second base. Who is out? The man still standing on second, the man coming from first to second, or BOTH?
Same scenerio - But shortstop tags man on second first, then stops on second. Who is out in this situation.
Now how about a runner on first and a line drive is hit to first baseman. Ball deflects off his glove and the pitcher catches it and throws the runner at first base out after leaving first. Is there such a rule as first touch - to where the runner could not be doubled up at first? Anxiously awaiting your reply
These questions pertain to senior softball(50 years and older)
Thanks

Answer
Hi Mike,
Anxiously sending you my answer...
1) if they step on 2nd FIRST, R2 (coming from 1st) is out, R1 if tagged on base is not out.
2) If they Tag R1 on the base FIRST and THEN step on 2nd both R2 and R1 are out
3) the runner can leave as soon as the batted ball that is going to be legally caught FIRST touches a defensive player. So in your case R1 can leave 1st as soon as F3 touched the ball and before F1 legally catches it.
