Epilepsy/Seizures ADA Softball

Question
We have a 35 y/o male that plays softball on our team. He has had one grand mal seizure and another mini one within two weeks time. This is something that is becoming a consistant event. Is he protected by the ADA to continue to play? There is a concern from his team mates that he is literally "frying his brain" by continuing to play and risking his own health. The only place he has these seizures is on the softball field and he claims it is related to stress.
Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on this issue.
Answer
Hi Barbra,
You've got to be kidding me, an otherwise healthy young man (I assume) has some type of seizure(s) and playing softball is his concern? He needs a neurological work-up yesterday. There's nothing else I can tell you. Obviously this is not something to be ignored.

I don't know what type of answer you were looking for, ADA has nothing to do with this at present. In the 4072 questions I've answered I've never got a "2" for K. This question really had nothing to do with softball but rather some type of medical issue. I am not Dr. Manny and am not about to give a opinion about the causes of seizure disorders happening to someone whom I know nothing about, on or off a softball field. I gave you a common sense answer that anyone should have already known and not needed to ask on an internet forum. You've taught me a lesson. Unless the question has to do with a specific play or rule of softball I'm no longer going give it any type of answer and just hit the reject button.
