QUESTION: forgive what appears to have been a stupid question,i have not played for 20 years, alot has gone on apparently.i was looking at a bat roller that said it did not change the characteristics of the bat.it just broke the bat in and was still considerd a stock bat.
Answer
Hi Paul,
Rolling is a relatively new cheating activity that artificially stretches the fibers of the bat. It does change the characteristics of the bat immediately, artificially and significantly in such a way ASA now spells out that it is considered an altered bat.
