Illegal slow pitch bats

2016/7/15 17:00:30

Question
I was wondering if you knew the rulings on suspected altered bats? is there a way to have a bat tested if your suspicious, or does an ASA umpire need to make that decision? I have just noticed over the last 2 seasons the increase in doctored bats and our league is suffering because of its use/or suspicion. Any info would be great.

Answer
Hi Michael,

Unless a bat breaks, or injures a player there's nothing I know of that you can do.  Testing is expensive and I don't think any player would allow you to take bat for a month or two just because....I'm sorry but right now I don't know what else to tell you.
