Pitching Changes

While coaching a 10u local modified rules game I visited the circle once in the first, and once in the second innings, at the start of the third defensive inning I made a pitching change, 2/3 of that same inning I made another visit to the circle to calm my young pitcher. After that visit before time was inn the umpire admonished me of four visit rule stating if i made another visit at any point for the duration of the game it would require a pitching change is this a correct interpretation???

Hi Rick,

You have 3 defensive conferences per 7 innings, use them all in 1 inning or spread them out.  It is not a charged conference if you replace the pitcher.  After 3 you must replace the pitcher if you have another DC.  The umpire was "basically" correct.
