Bunt Coverage

Question
I am starting practices for our 10u 揃?all-star team?We will soon be 慸rilling?defensive bunt coverage and I am torn. With a runner on first, would you have corners crash, short cover third and centerfield cover 2nd? Alternatively, have 3rd stay back, pitcher cover the right side and short cover 2nd?

Thanks
Sam

Answer
Sam,

I would do it one of two ways.

Corners come in, F6 covers third, give up second.

Or, F5 comes in , F3 and F4 cover there respective bases and F6 covers third.

The second scenario is usually seen only at higher levels of play.  I would stick with the first option.  If you cover second is there really any chance of getting the lead runner at 10U?
