softball bat

Question
I have just bought my daughter a new bat for softball.  There are a couple other girls that have one just like it, and she wanted to "detail" the bat.  Just have a local sign person put her name on it with detail letters, to tell hers from the others.  Would that be legal??  She will be playing for a local travel team in tournaments and we don't want any problems.

Answer
I would not do anything to alter the graphics on the bat.  Personally I wouldn't call it illegal but you could make that argument.  I know she won't like it, but just have her put her name on the bat with a sharpie by the grip.  If you do have a decal made.  Make it small, and put it by the grip.
