Question
Runners on first and second, ball is hit to the shortstop, runner on 2nd did not move off base, shortstop runs with ball to 2nd and touches the runner who did not move , also tags the runner that is advancing from first, how many out and who is out? Thank you Gord

Answer
Hi Gord,

As long as F6 tag R1 1st and then touched the bag or tagged the runner, we have 2 outs, both R1 and R2.  The batter became a b-r thereby forcing R1 and 2 and R1 can no longer legally occupy the base.  They are out even if on base when tagged.
